Alison Beeson
GMus(Hons)RNCM, ATCL
Alison Beeson was born and educated in South Wales and went
on to study piano at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM)
with Marjorie Clementi. Since graduating in 1978, she has held
a variety of teaching posts including at the RNCM Junior School.
She is also an examiner, having for many years examined A level
practicals for AQA, and is a member of the examining panel of
the ABRSM having served both in the UK and overseas.
Currently, Alison teaches piano and keyboard skills at Chetham's
School of Music and at Manchester High School for Girls and has
been a member of the tutorial team for Chetham's annual International
Piano Summer School since its inception in 2001.
Her private teaching practice covers a wide range of ages and
abilities from beginners to Diploma level. As a performer Alison
is active as an accompanist for examinations, competitions, etc..
She is a member of the European Piano Teachers' Association (EPTA),
having served as a committee member of its Manchester Branch,
and is also a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians
(ISM).
Alison is married with two teenage daughters both of whom are
actively involved in music-making.
